DIY: Avocado Face Mask

As winter rolls in most of us will start to notice subtle changes in our skin.  If you are noticing your skin is looking a little dull and doesn’t have that usual radiance, this is a great all natural pick-me-up DIY face mask complements of one of our clinic superiors! Doing this at home mask 1-2 times a month can help replenish your skin and decrease redness and excess sebum production that can be the result of unbalanced skin.

You will need:
  • 1/3 cup rolled oats
  • ½ avocado
  • ½ cup plain yogurt (if very dairy sensitive, use ½ banana or water)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (if skin tends to be dry)
  • Juice of ½ lemon (if skin is red)
  • 1 opened capsule of Ester-C
  • 1 opened capsule of 400IU vitamin E
  • Optional:
    • Add 5-15 drops of tea tree oil for antibacterial effect
    • Add ½ tbsp of honey if skin is very dry
    • Add 1 tbsp of crushed fenugreek for acne prone skin 
  1. Combine all ingredients using a blender
  2. Add water if the consistency is too thick
  3. Apply to face and leave on for 15-30 min.
  4. Rinse and cleanse face, follow with your favourite serum or moisturizer!
  5. You can save any extra for 3-5 days in the fridge.
